Jacky Chan from Oscar Oscar Chadstone salon in Melbourne has taken out the inaugural International Collection of the Year category at Hairdressing Journal’s 2019 British Hairdressing Awards.
Jacky’s winning collection, UNVARNISHED, is a stunning eight piece representation of current hair trends that explore a plethora of textures, colours, styles, cuts and shapes; from textured finger waves to a modern and artistic take on the classic beehive.
“To win is so unexpected, but I’m over the moon! Thank you to everyone’s support back at home, especially my Oscar Oscar salon family and my business partner Oscar Cullinan for his years of continued mentoring and support. I can’t emphasise enough how winning this award is such a wonderful surprise! It feels fantastic,” Jacky said.
Jayne Lewis-Orr, Executive Director of HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards commented on the win: “Jacky’s beautiful work captivated the imagination of more than 100 industry judges and he thoroughly deserves the trophy. Warmest congratulations for demonstrating fantastic technical dexterity, and for being such a great ambassador for Australian hairdressing.”
A big congrats to our homegrown hero!
