To celebrate the launch of Schwarzkopf Professional’s very first National BLONDME Week, Matt Clements, Schwarzkopf Professional’s International Colour Ambassador and creative director at The Assembly, has executed a striking transformation – turning Australian comedian and Instagram star Celeste Barber blonde.
In true Celeste form, the transformation has her own cheeky spin on it, and her new look proves that there is indeed power in a bold transformation.
“I’m so honoured I had the opportunity of transforming Celeste’s hair and of course meeting the funniest woman on
Instagram,” Matt said.
“When people talk of blowing up the internet, Celeste has already dropped an atomic bomb onto the often unreal life of
social media and the worlds obsession with perfection. She is by far the most interesting and normal celebrity. I’m incredibly fortunate to get to work with some very inspiring people, and this no exception,” he continued.
National BLONDME Week will take place over 7-13 December 2019, and encourages everyone to take the plunge and go blonde, at least once in their lives.
“Gone are the days when turning blonde meant sacrificing the health of your hair, thanks to [Schwarzkopf Professional’s] breakthrough innovation Bonding Services like our BLONDME range,” said Jo Rigon, General Manager ANZ for Schwarzkopf Professional.
“We truly believe all of us have an inner blonde, from the darkest of brown to the palest shades. Just as every personality is unique, no two blondes are the same. We want customers to join in the fun with the BLONDME Challenge, and let their hairdresser create their very own signature look to fall in love with. ‘Blonde’ means more than just a colour…’it’s a way of life’. Take the challenge go blonde…once in your life!” Jo said.
Matt echoes this statement, noting: “Whether you’re just dipping your toe in or jumping head first into the world of blonde, it’s a serious commitment to long lasting beautiful hair. We love to inspire individuals to embrace their personality when helping them select the perfect blonde shade. In my experience, no other hair colour can transform, excite and give a person confidence quite like blond.”
Matt Clements’ 7 top care tips for blondes
1. Fight breakage by choosing the right colour service
Colour technology has come a long way. Schwarzkopf Professional offer an advanced system for creating the perfect
blonde, delivering the ultimate blonde hair quality. With an advanced bonding system, BLONDME® colour service is the first to bond colour and care, working together to minimise breakage during the lightening process.
2. Choose the right products
Schwarzkopf Professional BLONDME® range is perfectly customised to cater for all blonde needs. Created for tailored
blond nourishment and maintenance, in three dedicated tone directions, ALL BLONDS, COOL BLONDS and WARM BLONDS. “This is really about protecting the investment you’ve made,” says Matt.
3. Keep hair hydrated
If your hair has been treated to achieve your blonde, your hair will most likely be dehydrated. Avoid further damage by using a mask like BLONDME® Keratin Restore Bonding Mask for ALL BLONDS.
4. Use colour appropriate products
Keep hair looking vibrant by using colour appropriate shampoo, conditioners and refresher products. “Wearing beautiful hair colour should be an enjoyable journey over time. Extending that ‘just left the salon’ feeling is a combination of the service but also how you maintain it,” says Matt.
5. Protect locks from heat
You should always protect your hair from heat tools. Doing so will save your colour, make it last longer, as well as minimising any breakage. “This is a step that simply cannot be missed from your care routine. Choose a balm
or spray and use without fail before heat styling to protect your locks,” says Matt.
6. Wash less
Heading into summer this is a tricky one to remember but overexposure to salt water, chlorine, sun and sweat can lead to
washing hair more frequently. Try to keep washing to 2-3 times per week to keep colour lustrous.
7. Be sun smart
“Being sun smart is not only about looking after your skin, it’s also about looking after your hair no matter what shade it is. Wearing a hat is a simple yet effective way to protect colour. Why not have some fun and pair your hat with your hairstyle? The options are endless,” says Matt.
