Wella’s Education Director Australia & New Zealand, Gina Thomas, said, “The Wella Family talent in Australia and New Zealand is unparalleled. Tanya’s phenomenal achievement as International ColorVision 2018 Award recipient is a testament to this… [Wella TrendVision] is a truly life-changing opportunity for Australian and New Zealand hairdressers, giving them an opportunity to showcase their work on a global scale.”
There were 76 overall participants from 43 countries taking part in TrendVision this year, with the CreativeVision Award going to Russia’s Sergei Chernyshev.
The event’s 2018 edition featured a new format, with a two-day Creative Retreat aiming to elevate hairdressers’ skills. The Gold winners from around the world were split into eight teams and mentored by 16 renowned artists in the Wella global network, including Australia’s own Renya Xydis. Together, the teams entered five categories with a set of criteria covering social media, editorial, colour, styling and couture.
A creative showcase by legendary editorial stylist Eugene Souleiman was also presented at the event, where he recreated key looks from his latest Fashion Week shows.
