Massimo Tirimacco of Zohair Adelaide, SA was crowned the 2019 L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy winner and was also awarded the Marie Claire Reader’s Choice Award on Monday 21 February.
Fifteen finalists from around Australia came together for the 2019 L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy at The Palms, Crown Melbourne, where they re-created their qualifying looks for a panel of industry experts including celebrity hairstylist, Marie Uva; and Marie Claire Editor, Nicky Briger
Crowned winner Massimo was awarded a generous prize including a prestigious trip and admission to an International L’Oréal event, and will have his winning image featured on the cover of Marie Claire’s Hair Trend magazine. He will also receive a Cover Shoot package with The Journal.
“I can’t believe I’ve won the 2019 L’Oréal Colour Trophy! Winning such a prestigious award was the pinnacle moment that I have always envisioned. I am so looking forward to all the great opportunities to come and I could not think of a better brand to represent than L’Oréal Professionnel”, said Massimo.
Ruby Smillie from Sloans of Lane Cove was crowned as the 2019 Rising Star Award winner.
An evening of celebrations followed the awards ceremony, with a special guest appearance by L’Oréal Professionnel muse and Smartbond Ambassador, Ellie Gonsalves. Sophia Hilton made the trip down under from the UK for the festivities, where she showed off her colouring prowess on stage during a live demonstration. Sophia is the owner of London’s Not Another Salon.
The night was hosted by Tommy Little and included entertainment from Bachelor Girl and some of L’Oréal Professionnel’s Australian Artistic team who formed a stellar runway show ‘COLORMEFRENCH’ to showcase the latest trends from Paris.
