Kiwi hairdressers came together in the city of Hamilton on Sunday 8 October to celebrate their industry at the 2017 NZARH Supreme Awards.
With more than 100 competitors taking part in the live cutting and styling events, the Supreme Awards is the finale event following 14 regional competitions, which took place throughout New Zealand this year. The ‘Supreme Team’ winners from each regional event were invited to compete at the Supreme Awards for the title of Hair Stylist of the Year.
The talented winners included Rhea Cameron from Sliver Haircutters, who took out the 2017 Next Generation Hair Stylist of the Year; Mandy Taylor from Zaibatsu Hair Art, who took out 2017 Senior Hair Stylist of the Year; and the Otago regional team, which won the 2017 Supreme Team of the Year.
Hair Expo’s 2017 People’s Choice Award winner and NZ Hairdresser of the Year finalist, Natasha King, secured another big win for 2017 when she took home the Editorial Stylist of the Year Award.
Savvy social media images were recognised in the Patrick Cameron Instagram Challenge competition, which was also hosted at the awards. Congratulations to Annabel Joiner from Fusion Hair, who won the over five years category; and Angela Enoka from Lifestyle Hair, who won the under five years category.
The 2017 NZARH Supreme Awards were hosted by the New Zealand Association of Registered Hairdressers. The awards are held every two years.
