ghd Australia and New Zealand hosted its first Infinite Styling event in Sydney on Tuesday 3 October, a 12-hour international showcase that explored the possibilities of infinite styling without damaging hair. The Australian event took place alongside a global Infinite Styling event unfolding simultaneously in the UK. The event marked the launch of ghd’s 2017 Nocturne Christmas Collection of styling tools and products.
Kicking off at 7:00am, the Northern Foyers of the Sydney Opera House became a hub of hair activity as 10 stylists from Australia and New Zealand prepared 10 styles on a line-up of models, led by ghd Australia & NZ Creative Director, Richard Kavanagh. The styling team included ghd brand ambassador, Jayne Wild, Brad Lepper, Lisa Vitale of current Hair Expo Salon Team of the Year, é SALON, Richi Grisillo, Mia De Vries, Alana Dunphy, Liam Hubbard, Shaleena Winter, Travis Bandiera, and Jayme-Lee Franco. Hair Expo Men’s Hairdresser/Barber of the Year 2017, Uros Mikic, represented Australia and New Zealand at the concurrent UK event.
The styling was unique in its “no brief, brief”, said Richard Kavanagh, where stylists instead explored “infinite styling by creating beautiful looks every hour as they style, style, and style again.”
The event concluded with a party in the evening where guests saw the final looks created throughout the day, showcased during a runway-style show. Crimped and textured hair was created with the newly released, limited edition ghd contour™ styler.
The full Nocturne Christmas collection was also displayed against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour. The collection consists of a range of seven heat styling gift packs, as well as a limited edition Christmas bauble, which contains a tube of ghd advanced split end therapy.
Ludovic Dellazerri, Managing Director for ghd Australia & New Zealand, said “In true ghd style, this year the ghd Christmas collection is once again a true collection inspired by global trends. It’s a 360-degree feast for the eye, but also for the hair. The collection explores the blurred boundaries between night and day. Night becomes a source of inspiration and time for activity. With a deep understanding and insight into new-age millennial behaviour and their respective needs, ghd is proud to celebrate and introduce the possibilities of infinite styling, the ghd way… stylists and consumers can style, style, and style again without fear of damage.”
